Project Summary
The scope of work included debris removed to DPR-provided dumpsters, followed by extensive demolition of the existing roofing systems. This demolition encompassed the removal of roofing assemblies, rooftop aggregate, flashings, terminations, copings, roof hatches, skylights, smoke dampers, roof drains, internal downspouts, associated piping, and specified sections of steel decking with daily clean up.. NECC then furnished and installed a new roofing system, which included a PVC membrane, insulation, vapor retarder, substrate and cover boards, concrete cover board, tapered insulation, roof expansion joints, crickets, traffic pads, and safety tiebacks. Additional scope included the installation of new scuppers, downspouts, roof drains, overflows, flashing, coping, parapet sheathing, canopy roofing components, and pipe boot assemblies with spray foam insulation and stainless-steel clamps. New metal decking was provided and installed where existing decking was removed or deemed unusable, and all roofing components were completed to meet specified R-value requirements and performance standards, with provisions included for EFVM testing.
Throughout the course of this project, NECC collaborated closely with DPR across multiple phases to ensure the roofing system not only met technical requirements but also supported the critical function of the data center. This required careful planning, coordination, and phased execution to maintain the building’s integrity and allow daily operations to continue without disruption. By sequencing work strategically and implementing strict quality controls, NECC helped safeguard the facility’s ability to store and protect vital information while delivering an upgraded roofing system designed for long-term performance and resilience.
